The founder of Ursa Psychology, Dr. Katherine Kovachik is a registered Clinical Psychologist who provides treatment to adults and couples. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Manitoba. She works from a primarily cognitive behavioural framework, incorporating elements of acceptance and commitment, dialectical behaviour, interpersonal, psychodynamic, and narrative therapies.
Dr. Kovachik is particularly passionate about working with those experiencing depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and complex trauma, perinatal mental health concerns, grief and loss, and relationship challenges.
At Ursa Psychology, we are passionate about evidence-based practice and providing empirically supported treatments. This means that we integrate the best available scientific evidence, clinical judgment and experience, and client preferences when creating treatment plans. We offer specific psychological treatments that have been proven to be effective for certain groups of people. We take an intersectional approach to understanding client context and needs.
Ursa Psychology is conveniently located in the Corydon Village Mall on Corydon Avenue in River Heights. There is ample parking available to clients in the mall lot as well as on side streets. Our offices are accessible to clients using wheelchairs and other assistive devices. Ursa Psychology is committed to being a safe space where clients can be their authentic selves.

Dr. Kovachik provides couples therapy using an approach founded on cognitive-behaviour therapy and attachment theory. She specializes in working with high conflict couples and couples who are adjusting to the unique challenges of new parenthood.
The clinic is open by appointment only.
