Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Meditative Crafts Group

Winter can be a challenging season, and many people find themselves feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to move forward. This four-week ACT-based group is designed for adults who want to slow down, reconnect with their values, and learn practical strategies for navigating difficult thoughts and emotions. Facilitated by Dr. Nicole Muir, an expert in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, this group combines evidence-based skills with grounding, meditative craft activities to support presence, creativity, and values-based living.

Who This Group Is For:

This program is a good fit for adults who:

  • Feel stuck in cycles of worry, overthinking, or avoidance.
  • Want to live more intentionally and in alignment with personal values.
  • Are looking for practical ways to manage difficult thoughts and emotions.
  • Enjoy (or want to try) simple, soothing craft activities that support mindfulness and grounding.
  • Appreciate a supportive, therapist-led environment with a focus on skill development and gentle reflection.

**No craft experience is needed — all activities are beginner-friendly.

What to Expect:
Over four weeks, this group will help you:

  • Identify your personal values and understand how they guide meaningful action.
  • Learn ACT strategies for unhooking from difficult thoughts and feelings.
  • Recognize “choice points” — moments when you can either move toward or away from what matters.
  • Practice mindful awareness through meditative crafts (e.g., embroidered hearts, crochet/knitting projects).
  • Build a sense of openness, flexibility, and creativity in a calm, structured environment.

Each session includes guided ACT skill-building, journaling, discussion, and hands-on craft time.
