Couples Therapy at Ursa:
We draw from several evidence-based approaches including:
Family Systems Therapy helps us explore how each partner’s family background and past experiences shape the dynamics between you today.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) offers practical tools for identifying unhelpful thought patterns and communication habits, while practicing new, more constructive ways of relating.
Attachment-Based Approaches provide insight into how early experiences of trust and connection influence how partners respond to closeness, conflict, and vulnerability.
Specialized treatment is available for high conflict couples and couples who are adjusting to the unique challenges of new parenthood.

Therapy for Children and Teens at Ursa:
Therapy provides a developmentally appropriate space where young people can explore emotions, make sense of their experiences, and build skills for navigating challenges.
Treatment with children and adolescents is provided by Richelle Ready (she/her), Registered Social Worker, who works with youth across developmental stages using a trauma-informed, relational approach.
She has particular experience supporting children and teens who are navigating anxiety, complex trauma, grief and loss, identity development, and the challenges of growing up within complex family, school, or social systems.
Caregiver involvement is thoughtfully integrated when appropriate, with attention to the broader systems shaping a child or teen’s well-being. The focus is on fostering safety, resilience, and a stronger sense of self over time.

Group Therapy at Ursa:
At Ursa, we believe in the power of connection and community to foster healing and growth. Our group therapy programs provide a supportive, confidential space where individuals can share their experiences, learn from others, and develop tools for positive change.
Led by our team of skilled clinicians, groups at Ursa blend professional guidance with shared understanding and mutual support. Each program is thoughtfully designed to help participants navigate life’s challenges while building a sense of belonging and resilience.

Ursa Psychology operates on Treaty 1 Territory, the traditional lands of the Anishinaabeg, Ininiwak, Anisininewuk, Dakota Oyate, Dene, and Inuit Peoples, and the homeland of the Red River Métis.
As a Métis-owned clinic, with several Métis clinicians on our team, we recognize that our ability to live and work on this land is tied to the ongoing impacts of colonization. We are committed to reflecting on how these systems continue to shape access to care and wellbeing.
At Ursa, we strive for excellence in care and are dedicated to advocacy that supports Indigenous rights, health, and self-determination. We honour Indigenous knowledge, strength, and resilience through our relationships, our practice, and our continued learning.
